I strongly believe that genetic engineering should be eliminated because do really believe that this manipulative operation that can supposedly cure diseases and increase the immunity of people to viruses, I would seriously take a second thought about Genetic Engineering. An example of such a disease genetic engineering can supposedly cure is cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that affects organs such as the lungs. Genetic engineering has also created genetically engineered food that is being slowly proved to be harmful to health.
Genetic engineering has the power to change the life we have and can change what you look like, improve your immunity and can cure diseases by creating a person and then using that fake person to cure the disease then under no permission with your body, controls your genes to cure your disease making you still alive, but not completely healthy. By manipulating the genes everything that happens is deleted like it was never even supposed to occur, nature has its way and the way things naturally happen is the way things are meant to be. Genetic engineering enables scientists to create plants, animals and micro-organisms by tampering the genes in a way that it does not occur naturally.
There is a book called `My Sisters Keeper’ about a girl who gets a disease and she has a sister who donates to her sister with the disease and it finally gets down to the point where her the sister who is the donor is given the choice that she can donate her kidney to her sister and she will live or vice versa so they take the situation to court sort of and the donating sister does not have to donate her kidney if she wins the law suit, the girl’s mother think that she should go ahead and donate it while her father is having mixed emotions about the situation. The point that I am trying to get through to you is that the second child feels like she isn't special to her family and she feels like she just her sisters keeper, she only exists so her sister exists. How would you feel if you were your sisters donor and you only existed so your sister exists, not a very nice feeling.
So I come to the conclusion that, I think Genetic engineering is apaulling to western civilization and that, no, it isn't right.It is being proved to be bad for health if you eat Geneticlly modified food, but people in Zambia don't jave a choice they either eat geneticlly modified food or just live of what they can find that looks good enough to eat. The rice that Zambians eat is geneticlly modified which is causing some people bad health or even life threatens, as to that some people have already died due to the lack of nutrition and health in the food they are being given. Who cares what your child looks like what your immuntiy is how strong you are or how brainy you are I think that you should just be happy with who you are and what you are.
